Kia is all set to unveil the next-generation Seltos on December 10. The new Seltos will be revealed in South Korea before making its way to India sometime in 2026, where it will compete in the mid-size SUV market.
The Seltos has been one of Kia’s biggest global success stories and the upcoming model promises to take things to a step further. The new version is said to come with major upgrades in design, technology and performance which will ensure the SUV stays ahead of rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq etc.
What to Expect
Spy photos and reports from South Korea suggest that the next-gen Kia Seltos will sport a completely redesigned exterior. We can expect a sharper, more futuristic look with a split LED headlamp setup, vertical LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a larger grille giving it a bolder road presence. The SUV is also expected to feature new alloy wheel designs, redesigned mirrors and a sleeker window line with a unique triangular rear glass panel, that hint at a more premium, aerodynamic shape.
Under the Hood
Kia is reportedly offering the new Seltos with multiple powertrain options which will include petrol and petrol-hybrid engines for global markets. The India-spec version could also continue with a diesel option, given its popularity among Indian SUV buyers. Built on the same platform as the Hyundai Creta, the next-gen Seltos may also get an e-AWD (electric all-wheel-drive) setup in some international variants. Though whether this feature will make up to India or not is not disclosed yet.
Tech and Interiors
While details on the interior are still under wraps, we expect a completely refreshed cabin featuring dual digital displays, connected car tech and advanced driver assistance features (ADAS), which will bring it closer to premium SUVs.
