The Finance Ministry has made it clear that the Arrear of Dearness Allowance – DA and Dearness Relief – Dr will no longer be given anymore during the Kovid -19 (Covid -19). The ministry has also given updates regarding the 8th Pay Commission.

In fact, the question was asked in Parliament whether the 18 -month DA/Dr freezed between January 2020 and June 2021 will now be released after the country’s economic recovery. Currently, DA is 55% on basic pay under 7th Pay Commission. Whenever a new pay commission is implemented, DA is reset and started from zero. After the formation, the panel will discuss the report by discussing with stakeholders that will recommend changes in fitment factor and salary structure.
