Once Ravana, the conqueror of the three worlds, had a desire to know about his death, so that he could conquer the one who killed him and become immortal. With this desire, Ravana approached Lord Brahma, the creator of the world, and expressed his desire to know from him about his death. Brahma ji said, Hey Ravana! Death is the ultimate truth. The one who is born will die. There is no one immortal in this entire world.

Ravana abducted Kaushalya ji

Also Brahma ji told Ravana that his death would be at the hands of King Dashrath of Ayodhya and Ram, the incarnation of Shri Hari, son of Kaushalya. Ravana was extremely knowledgeable. He thought that if Dasharatha and Kaushalya did not get married, Ram would not be born and he would not die. After this he made a plan. Then on the day of marriage of King Dashrath and Kaushalya, he abducted mother Kaushalya.

Ravana became free from worries and happy

Not only this, after abducting mother Kaushalya, Ravana locked her in a box and kept her on a far away deserted island. After this Ravana became worry free and happy. Because he felt that he had postponed his death. Here Devarshi Narad told this incident to King Dasharatha. After this King Dasharatha went to that island. They found Kaushalya ji locked in a box in an unconscious state.

After this, King Dashrath brought Kaishalya ji to Ayodhya, where both of them got married with full rituals. After this, how Lord Vishnu incarnated as Shri Ram and killed Ravana. We all know this.
