Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Calls Gaurav ‘Reverse Nepotism Product’ After Anupamaa Actor Says ‘Jahan Tera Struggle…’

Nepotism has been a long-running debate in Bollywood, but this time, the discussion entered the Bigg Boss 19 house. In the latest promo, Amaal Mallik and Gaurav Khanna have a heated argument and the topic was insider vs outsider.

It took an ugly turn when the music composer called himself a product of ‘reverse nepotism’.

Gaurav Khanna and Amaal Mallik fight over nepotism

In the promo of Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav said the first opportunity that an artiste receives is not based on talent, but contacts with the right people. Amaal defended, saying the struggle for everyone is the same. Reacting to this, Gaurav said, “Jahan tera struggle shuru hua hai hum aspire karte hai.” The composer, who is the son of Daboo Malik, mentioned that he can’t deny ‘foot in the door’ moments. Khanna clarified that ‘foot in the door’ is an easier option. Amaal further told Gaurav that he did not want to wage a war with him on nepotism. Mallik then called himself ‘reverse nepotism ka product’.

Amaal’s father on favouritism

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Amaal’s father Daboo reacted to allegations of Salman Khan favouring him on the show. He said, “People have to understand that Amaal is not somebody who is doing the maximum number of films. He is not the one who is calling the shots. He is just like any other musician who has done some good work and has been appreciated. He doesn’t have the clout that people are thinking. It is the kind of self-thought everybody is developing, and they are putting him and me on a pedestal.”

He added, “We are just ordinary musicians who are just being forced upon being said, ‘Inka toh clout hai. Dosti hai.’ In the last 10 years, we have never done anything with Salman Khan. A long time back, maybe in 2015 or 2016, we did some work with him. After that, we have not done any work for the longest time. Neither have we been supported nor have we been taken care of. There’s nothing like this. It’s just that people are connecting dots.”
