Which days are considered inauspicious?

- Thursday – Thursday is considered the most inauspicious day for washing clothes. Shaving of beard on Thursday is prohibited in Hindu scriptures. This means that on this day one should neither wash hair, nor cut nails, nor wash clothes, nor clean the house. Apart from this, washing clothes is also prohibited on Saturday. Doing this hinders the work and the work being done stops.
- Amavasya – Purnima Tithi – Amavasya and Purnima Tithi are considered very important in Hindu religion. On these days, bathing in holy rivers, worshiping, chanting mantras and donating are considered extremely auspicious. Clothes should not be washed on Amavasya and Purnima days. This angers Goddess Lakshmi and the inflow of money stops.
- Ekadashi Tithi – Like Thursday, Ekadashi Tithi is also dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and clothes should not be washed on this day, otherwise Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi get angry.
