Why will the counting of votes be different on these 2 VIP seats of Bihar? Know the reason

Vaishali district is the center of counting in Bihar elections 2025. Due to the seats of Tejashwi Yadav (Raghopur) and Tej Pratap (Mahua), counting will be held in two separate centres. Raghopur will be counted in ITI Hajipur and Mahua will be counted in RN College, so that security and transparency is maintained.

This time Vaishali district has become the focal point of the entire state regarding the counting of votes for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The reason for this is Raghopur and Mahua, two high-profile seats of the district, where Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav and Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) president Tej Pratap Yadav are in the fray. This time the Election Commission has made special arrangements for the counting of votes for these two seats. Both will be counted at different centres.

Raghopur will be counted in ITI Hajipur

The counting of votes of Raghopur, the traditional seat of Tejashwi Yadav, will be conducted at the ITI Training Institute of Hajipur. Apart from Raghopur, counting of votes of Hajipur and Patepur assembly seats will also be done at this centre. According to the Commission, the ITI campus has been chosen because adequate space, parking and security arrangements can be ensured here. There is also a strong contest between NDA and independent candidates against Tejashwi Yadav on Raghopur seat. During the counting of votes, special security forces will be deployed at this center so that every phase can be completed in a transparent and peaceful environment.

Mahua will be counted in RN College, Hajipur

At the same time, the counting of votes for Tej Pratap Yadav’s Mahua assembly seat will be held in RN College, Hajipur. Along with Mahua, votes of Mahnar, Lalganj, Vaishali and Rajapakar seats will also be counted at this centre. During the Lok Sabha elections, all the assembly votes of Hajipur area were counted in this RN College, but this time in view of shortage of space and security reasons, the Election Commission has divided the counting centers into two parts.

Why were two centers built in Vaishali?

There are total 8 assembly seats in Vaishali district. Normally the work would be done from a single counting centre, but this time the administration has created two separate centers in view of the large number of counting personnel, candidates and agents. According to sources, space is limited in the RN College and there were complaints of crowding and inconvenience during counting of votes in the last elections. Therefore, for the first time, the Commission has selected ITI Hajipur as an alternative centre. Moreover, the seats of both the Yadav brothers are among the most popular seats in the state, so no risk has been taken regarding transparency and security.

Special arrangements for security and surveillance

CCTV cameras, entry pass system, and multi-layer security cordon have been installed at both the counting centres. Live monitoring will be done through cameras on every counting table, so that there is no scope for any irregularities. The District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police will monitor both the centers during the counting of votes, while the State Election Commission has also deployed special observers in Hajipur.

All eyes on two brothers

Both Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav seats are very important for RJD and JJD not only politically but also emotionally. Tejashwi Yadav from Raghopur is trying his luck for the third consecutive time, while Tej Pratap Yadav from Mahua has contested the elections this time on the ticket of his new party. The results of both the seats will not only decide the course of Bihar politics but will also affect the next political direction of the Yadav family.

The ‘political balance’ of Bihar will be decided by the results.

These two centers of Vaishali have now become the focus points of Bihar politics. The results coming out from here will decide who will be ahead in the politics of Yadav family. Tejashwi’s tradition or Tej Pratap’s new path. Counting of votes will begin at 8 am on November 14 and the Commission has made it clear that both the centers will be monitored live till the results are declared.
