Change was not easy for Om Prakash Sahu
It was not easy for Om Prakash Sahu to leave the violence. Some people opposed him, threatened him, but Om Prakash’s encouragement did not diminish. The effect of their efforts is that today more than 150 families of Basia block are fisheries. People who used to be a Naxalite here, today they are running their family by raising fish and contributing to advancing the country and the state.

Om Prakash Sahu benefited from the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in succeeding in the field of fisheries. He was trained under this scheme. It was taught how fish would be followed. What things have to be kept in mind. This learning brought color. Sometimes Om Prakash had to live in the crisis of money. There was trouble in running the family. Today he is crossing fish in 20 ponds. They are trade for lakhs of rupees annually. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mentioned the work done by Om Prakash in his radio program Mann Ki Baat.
