Bhopal News: In MP in a one-day seminar-cum-training workshop on ‘coincidence with environment’ in MP, CM emphasized the balance between development and environment. Gave examples of road construction, ancient construction techniques and wildlife conservation with large ponds.
Bhopal News: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that there should be a planned harmony for development and environmental protection, so that nature should be preserved along with development. The ancient construction traditions of India still guide in the field of engineering. Giving the example of a large pond of Bhopal, he said that it was made up of the technique of storing water between natural rocks without stopping the mainstream of a river. This pond is not only a decoration item, but also a source of drinking water. Its structure is such that the excess water automatically gets out and the cost of the structure is also low. Today, underpasses are being built under bridges keeping in mind the wildlife conservation in road construction, so that tigers and other animals can pass safely and do not affect traffic.
This is not just technology, but an example of balance between nature and development. At present, there is a need to pay enough attention to the amount of construction material, the quality of the design and cost-effectiveness. There is more importance than quantity in construction. The engineer is the one who makes the best use of available resources while keeping the same efficiency in science, mathematics and technology. The Chief Minister expressed these views on the inauguration of the one-day seminar-cum training workshop on the subject of ‘environment coordination’ towards realizing the goal of the Public Works Department. The Chief Minister inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp in Ravindra Bhavan. At the beginning of the program, there was a collective anthem of the national song Vande Mataram and the national anthem Jana Gana Mana. On this occasion, Public Works also performed a short film focused on sensitivity to the environment.
Building that is useful for generations to come
The Chief Minister said that we should make such constructions, which we are proud of ourselves and which are useful for generations to come. The engineers will have to find solutions from creative thinking even though within the departmental scope and rules, which prove the superior to the projects quality, cost and environment – all three standards. The Chief Minister congratulated Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh for the initiative of organizing a workshop on ‘coordination with environment’ and expressed confidence that such workshops will not only help in increasing technical knowledge, but will also bring positive changes in the functioning of the department. He said that this resolution is not only for technical training, but a symbol of cleanliness, patience and loyalty of our mind, which will ensure that we can fulfill the responsibility of environmental protection with development with full devotion.
The development car will never derail the environment
Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh said that this is probably the first time that all the engineers of Madhya Pradesh are connected together through direct and virtual medium. He accepted the special gratitude of Chief Minister Yadav and said that he has ensured that the development car in the state will never derail the environment. Rakesh Singh said that the real meaning of development is only when the protection of the environment is also ensured with structural progress. Our ancestors preserved the structures in such a way that the coming generations also benefited them. He gave an example that the 2000 -year -old Anay Kattu Dam near Trichy is still working today, which is a proof of the amazing ability of Indian engineers. Similarly, 7000 years old bricks obtained from Mohan Jodaro were used as a base under the British during the British and they remained firmly for several decades. He said that this tradition, this skill and this vision is in our rites, which will have to be strengthened even more.
The time limit for repairing road pits will be reduced from 7 days to 4 days

To ensure high quality, the department has decided to buy bitumen used in construction works only from government refineries. The minister said that the road repair system has been strengthened through Lokpath Mobile App. Earlier, the deadline for repairing pits was 7 days, which we are deciding to reduce it to 4 days soon. The minister said that the department has taken many concrete and effective steps for environmental protection. Lok Kalyan Sarovar is being constructed in place of soil to be taken out for construction work. The work of making ground water recharge bore is being done every kilometer. With this, it has been resolved today that rainwater harvesting will be arranged in all the buildings of the department, each premises will be covered with greenery, the use of plastic bottles will be banned in the department and solar power panels will be installed on all office buildings. Minister Shri Singh expressed confidence that with the dedication of engineers, departmental innovations and guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Public Works Department of Madhya Pradesh will create a separate and highest identity in the country in the field of innovation, quality and environmental protection in the coming time.
