Islamabad: At least 12 people were killed in a blast at the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad’s G-11 area on Tuesday, Dawn reported. According to Dawn, a senior Islamabad Police official confirmed the death toll. The cause of the blast is not yet known and investigation is underway. Videos circulating on social media showed flames and a thick plume of smoke rising from the wreckage of a burnt vehicle behind a security barrier after the blast, Dawn reported.
According to DawnNewsTV, the sound of the explosion was heard up to six kilometers away. Security forces have cordoned off the area and rescue and investigation teams have reached the spot.
