In whose favor did this record voting go?

The record increase of such huge turnout has created a stir among political analysts. Generally, a large increase in voting percentage is seen in the following signs.

  • Anti-Incumbency: High turnout often indicates that voters are eager to express their dissatisfaction with the current government.
  • Participation of youth and women: Women and youth voted in large numbers in the 2020 elections also. This historic increase in 2025 shows that the youth felt it necessary to come into the field to give a clear mandate on fundamental issues like ‘jobs’ and ‘development’.
  • Tough contest in Seemanchal: More than 73% voting in Araria, Kishanganj and Purnia indicates that the contest has been extremely tough in the Seemanchal region, where along with the NDA, the Grand Alliance and Owaisi’s party (AIMIM) were also in the fray.
