Jaipur. A major controversy has erupted in the bureaucracy of Rajasthan after a senior woman IAS officer lodged a police complaint against her husband, who is also an IAS officer. In her FIR lodged at the SMS police station on November 7, the woman IAS officer has accused her husband of assault, illegal confinement at gunpoint, threats, extramarital affairs and mental harassment. She alleged that her husband often drank alcohol and used to threaten her while pressurizing her to agree to the divorce.

According to the complaint, the dispute between husband and wife has been going on for many years. The woman told that when she was being selected in IAS, her father was battling cancer and her husband allegedly took advantage of this situation and forced her to marry him. She also claimed that the husband had given wrong information about his cadre to get posting in Rajasthan.

Husband started torturing daughter as soon as she was born

The complaint states that the couple had a daughter through IVF in 2018. After her birth, her husband’s behavior reportedly became violent, including incidents such as strangulation and assault. The woman IAS officer said she often stayed with her parents in Delhi, even during her maternity leave, for her safety. She also accused her husband of having extramarital affairs during his posting in Jaisalmer and Bhilwara, which she claimed was also discussed in the local media.

Kidnapping-blackmailing and spy camera…

The most serious allegations relate to incidents on October 14 and 15, when her husband allegedly threatened her with divorce and later abducted her and their daughter, holding them hostage in a house for more than an hour. The woman IAS officer alleged that her husband showed her a pistol, snatched her phone and threatened to harm her family if she did not agree to his demands. He also claimed that spy cameras and phone tracking were used to invade his privacy and blackmail him. Police have registered the case and started investigation into the serious allegations made by the IAS officer.
