This project was approved about 11 years ago. However, due to land acquisition, technical challenges and other reasons, the work fell far behind schedule. Now the construction work has reached the final stage and is being continuously monitored by the officials.

Travel from Mayur Vihar to AIIMS will be easy

The length of Barapulla Phase-3 flyover is about 3.5 kilometers, but its impact will be visible on a large part of Delhi. After its commissioning, the journey of about 9 kilometers from Mayur Vihar to AIIMS Hospital can be completed in just 15 minutes.

At present, to go from East Delhi to West Delhi, people have to pass through Ring Road or many busy routes of New Delhi. The new flyover will reduce this problem to a great extent and provide a direct and faster route to the passengers.

There will be reduction in both traffic jams and pollution

With the commencement of this corridor, connectivity between Sarai Kale Khan, Mayur Vihar, NH-24, DND Flyway and Ring Road will be improved. Experts believe that by reducing traffic pressure, fuel consumption of vehicles will reduce and carbon emissions will also reduce.

A special feature of this project is that separate lanes for cyclists and better facilities for pedestrians have been developed in it. This is the reason why it is considered one of the most passenger-friendly elevated corridors of Delhi.

Thousands of daily commuters are expected to get relief from the jam after the commencement of Barapulla Phase-3 flyover. Also, this project can prove to be an important step towards strengthening the road connectivity of the capital.
