Apple iPhone Air 2 has been in a dubious case since the beginning. Previously, we got to know about rumours suggesting that the iPhone Air will have no successor in the global market.
However, that was quashed by the leaks related to the iPhone Air 2. Now, the latest reports indicate that the Cupertino-based giant is all set to drop Apple iPhone Air 2 launch plans for a considerable amount of time.
According to a report published by the Information, Apple has drastically reduced the production of iPhone Air. Apple was hoping that iPhone Air will be one of the most popular offering from their lineup, bringing in a lot of business, but that didn’t happen. Due to this, Apple is most probably re-evaluating everything related to the successor of the device.
Talking about the ongoing official talks, Apple was planning to drop the iPhone Air 2 in September 2026, along with the iPhone 18 series and iPhone Fold. However, the latest reports related to the same suggest that the 2026 Apple launch will be focusing on two main products – the iPhone 18 lineup and the iPhone Fold. Some of the leaks say that the iPhone Air 2 could still make a debut by spring 2027, but not before that.
What Can We Expect From Apple iPhone Air 2?
Leaks and rumours related to the device revealed that Apple iPhone Air 2 will be shipping with a lighter chassis and a bigger battery as compared to its predecessor. The device may also get a vapour chamber cooling system for better performance and zero heating issues under high-performance pressure.
Furthermore, it is also being said that, unlike its predecessor, the iPhone Air 2 will most probably sport a dual rear camera system including a 48MP primary shooter and a 48MP ultra wide angle shooter. Apart from that, all the details related to the device are still under wraps. Speculations are that we will get to know more about the same through leaks in the coming days.
