Eight to infinity
Eight years after its release, Qarib Qarib Singlle (2017) continues to hold a special place in actor Parvathy Thiruvothu’s heart.
The film, which marked her Bollywood debut opposite the late Irrfan Khan, remains cherished for its warmth and honesty. Reflecting on the experience, Parvathy told IANS, “The biggest thing I took from my time with Irrfan sir is the value of presence. He made you feel like every moment mattered.” She added that the film’s sincerity is what keeps it alive: “It’s a simple, honest story about two imperfect people finding hope in each other.”
An offer you can’t resist
Boney Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap
Director Anurag Kashyap, best known for Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), and Black Friday (2007), recently recalled how producer Boney Kapoor once made him an irresistible offer early in his career. “Boney Kapoor told me, ‘Why don’t you make a film? Just point at any building from Bandra to Juhu, and I’ll buy you a flat there,’” Anurag shared on Komal Nahta’s Game Changers podcast. The offer came after Boney saw his unreleased debut, Paanch (2001), which was banned by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for its raw portrayal of sex, drugs, and violence. “If Paanch had released, I’d have been a different person,” Anurag reflected.

Reality check
Salman Khan
As Bigg Boss 19 heads towards its finale, reports of an extension have been dismissed. According to reports, sources confirmed that the Salman Khan-hosted reality show will conclude as scheduled, with no additional weeks planned. “There are absolutely no plans to extend the season. We wanted to stick to the 15-week stipulated plan,” said a source. We have also learnt that Salman’s film commitments for Battle of Galwan made an extension impractical. With the 15-week format intact, the grand finale of Bigg Boss 19 is set to air on December 7 on JioHotstar and Colors TV.
