Dharmendra death news: Confusion and concern swept across social media on Tuesday morning (November 11, 2025) after multiple unverified reports falsely claimed that legendary actor Dharmendra had passed away. Actress and BJP MP Hema Malini, Dharmendra’s wife, strongly condemned the circulation of the misinformation.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she wrote, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.” Her statement highlighted the emotional strain caused by the careless spread of misleading updates.

Earlier in the day, Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol also clarified that her father is alive and currently recovering. Sharing a note on Instagram, she wrote, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for Papa’s speedy recovery.”

According to sources, Dharmendra, 89, had been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital recently after his health condition required monitoring. Although no official medical bulletin has been issued yet, his family — including sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol — have been visiting regularly. The family has urged the public not to engage with or circulate speculative updates.

Dharmendra, often fondly referred to as Bollywood’s original He-Man, is one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated and influential stars. Beginning his career with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960), he built an iconic filmography that stretched across romance, action, drama and comedy. His performances in Bandini (1963), Anupama (1966), Sholay (1975), Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971), Dharam Veer (1977) and Chupke Chupke (1975) have remained cultural touchstones for generations of viewers.

Even in recent years, Dharmendra has continued to appear on screen with warmth and grace. He delivered a touching performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) and was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). His upcoming film Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda, is scheduled to release this Christmas.
