Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed for 3 days continuously from 26th June, complete important tasks like check book, draft etc. first.

Banks will remain closed on 26, 27 and 28 June

If you have to go to the bank branch and complete important tasks like depositing money, clearing a check or making a demand draft, then this is very important news for you. In the last week of June, there will be no work in banks for three consecutive days in many states of the country. Bank branches are going to remain completely closed from 26th June to 28th June. However, for the convenience of common customers, digital banking and ATM services will continue to operate 24 hours without any interruption during this period.

Holidays are starting from 26th June

According to the official holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), at the beginning of this week i.e. from June 22 to June 25 (Thursday), all government and private banks across the country will remain open normally. All routine banking services will operate regularly during these four days.

Actually, the series of holidays is starting from June 26 (Friday), when there will be bank holiday in many states and cities on the occasion of Muharram. Keep in mind that this holiday does not apply to the entire country simultaneously, so customers must check the bank holiday list of their local city. The very next day, on June 27, being the fourth Saturday of the month, all banks across the country will remain closed. After this, there is a weekly holiday on Sunday, 28th June. In this way, in states where Friday is Muharram holiday, bank branches will remain closed for three consecutive days.

Bank will remain closed for so many days in the month of July

After this last weekend of June, if we talk about the next month i.e. July, then due to festivals and local celebrations, banks will remain locked in different areas for a total of 6 days. Apart from this, banks across the country will remain closed as usual on the second and fourth Saturdays, while all Sundays will also remain closed.

According to RBI rules, banks will remain closed in Aizawl on July 6 due to MHIP Day. After this, holiday has been declared in Shillong on 9th July. At the same time, due to regional festivals like Rath Yatra, Kang and Harela on July 16, there will be no work in the bank branches of Bhubaneswar, Dehradun and Imphal. Next day i.e. on 17th July, there will again be a bank holiday in Shillong, while on 22nd July, banks will remain closed in Agartala on the occasion of Kharchi Puja. It is a matter of relief that except weekends in July, there is no such mass holiday due to which the banks of the entire country are closed simultaneously.

Online services will remain operational

Despite the physical branches of banks remaining closed, customers do not need to worry about their financial needs. Net banking, mobile banking and UPI services will continue to work normally. Money transactions can be done as usual through various digital platforms like Google Pay, Phone Pay and Paytm. Along with this, ATM machines will also remain fully operational for cash withdrawal and deposit, so that you will not have to face any kind of inconvenience on weekends.
