South Indian singer Sid Sriram is now riding high on success after receiving a lot of love for his songs in Tamil and Telugu movies and albums.
Now, he is all set for his first-ever commercial multi-city India tour, which is going to start in November 2025. In an exclusive interaction with Zoom, Sid Sriram opened up about the same and revealed how he deals with criticism and failure in his life. Excerpts
Tell us about your first-ever commercial multi-city India tour scheduled for this November and December-what inspired it, and what can audiences expect?
The tour will be a celebration of all that music that has made me who I am. The shows will primarily consist of my film hits. Performing in India is always special, and I can’t wait to share in magical energy with the fans.
You’ve had an incredible music career with hits like ‘Adiga’ and ‘Nee Singam Dhan’. What drives your creativity and inspiration for music?
My creativity and inspiration are driven by curiosity. As far back as I can remember, sound has been fascinating to me. Music is such a magical mystery; the way melody, rhythm, harmony and words all come together to form beautiful experiences will forever leave me in awe.
How do you deal with failure or criticism in your life?
Learn from everything. I’m not sure I believe in the idea of failure, though. The concept of failure seems to imply that there’s some finality to it. Life is far too vast for that to be the case. With that said, at any point where one feels like one has fallen short, I think those are opportunities to learn and evolve.
You’ve done remarkable work in both playback singing and live performances. Which one do you enjoy more, and why?
Each of them feels like such a different creative paradigm, and they are both exhilarating. The stage was the first place that felt like home for me, but the studio is the first place where I started imagining new musical universes.

Tell us about your most memorable live performance experience.
Last year performing Nee Singam Dhaan in Chennai. It was my first show in Chennai since the pandemic, and that song feels like a grand homecoming. The second I sang the first note of the song, that whole stadium erupted; it moved me quite a bit.
Many singers experience some shocking incidents during their live concerts. Have you ever faced such incidents?
Not really
Nowadays, singing reality shows such as Indian Idol and others are being trolled over their authenticity. What is your take on it?
I haven’t really kept up with singing reality shows.
How do you handle negative feedback or trolling on social media?
I don’t pay attention to it; I have a great unit of people around me who are super honest with me. I get all the feedback I need from them.
Do you have any upcoming projects where you’ll be singing more in Bollywood?
Everyone will know about upcoming film projects as they release!
What are you working on currently in terms of music projects or collaborations?
I’ll be releasing new music soon through my joint venture with Warner Music.
