Will RJD form government with Nitish Kumar? Lalu’s statement created political stir in Bihar – News Himachali News Himachali

In an interview given to a newspaper, Lalu said that unemployment is the main issue in this election in Bihar. If his party forms the government, it will eliminate unemployment from the state.

The former Chief Minister of Bihar said this at the official residence of his wife Rabri Devi at 10 Circular Road, Patna. Lalu Yadav, who was completely missing from the assembly election campaign due to health reasons, said that this time his party will oust Nitish Kumar from power.

What did Lalu say on meeting Nitish?

Responding to a question about the possibility of a re-alliance with Nitish Kumar, RJD chief Lalu Yadav said, “We will never accept Nitish Kumar now.” In response to another counter-question, he clarified that he is not in touch with Nitish.

Shah’s statement had created an uproar

The newspaper wrote that if NDA wins and BJP does not make Nitish the Chief Minister, can the JDU chief again turn to the Grand Alliance? Because recently Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a statement which created a stir. He said that NDA is contesting the elections under the leadership of Nitish, but the Chief Minister will be elected by the newly elected MLAs.

PM Modi praised Nitish

This statement spread anger in Nitish camp. Later many NDA leaders clarified that if the alliance wins then Nitish will be the Chief Minister. During the election campaign, the Prime Minister praised Nitish, citing Bihar’s development work and attacking Lalu Prasad Yadav’s “jungle raj”. However, the question remained as to who would become the Chief Minister.

Politics of Bihar = Lalu-Nitish

Lalu and Nitish have repeatedly reshaped the politics of Bihar in the last 35 years. Sometimes they were rivals, and sometimes they supported each other. In 2015 and 2022, Nitish maintained the relevance of the Lalu family by joining hands with the RJD. Both times he made Tejashwi the Deputy Chief Minister. In return, Lalu gave a free hand to Nitish by not claiming the post of Chief Minister in the alliance.

The newspaper writes that Nitish’s clever moves stopped the vote bank of the Yadav family from going towards BJP. If Lalu Yadav’s influence had weakened, BJP would have become independently stronger and Nitish’s position could have weakened.

Nitish broke ties with Lalu in 2005 and formed an alliance of Kurmi-Koeri, extremely backward castes and Mahadalits. Kurmis constitute only 2.8 percent of the population, while Yadavs constitute more than 14 percent. Nitish started his era by linking the upper caste vote bank with BJP. He kept the Lalu family relevant to rein in the BJP.
