Weather Alert News: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for more than half the states of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain and storm in many states including Maharashtra, Bihar, Odisha from 25-28 June.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Currently, people are in distress due to the scorching heat in most of the states of the country. But the alert issued by the Meteorological Department is cautionary. Because there is a possibility of heavy rain this week i.e. from 25th to 28th June. According to the warning issued by IMD, the system necessary for monsoon has become active in Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. Along with rain, there is a possibility of strong winds, storm and lightning in these states. That means there will be a double attack of the weather.

Big danger in these states on June 23

  • In its latest weather bulletin, IMD has said that the conditions are favorable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon. Around June 23, it may rain in some more parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar as well as some parts of Chhattisgarh.
  • The weather department also said that very heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till June 25.

Heatwave wreaks havoc in MP-UP

  • IMD has warned that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions may persist in Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh for the next four to five days.
  • There is a possibility of heat wave in Chhattisgarh for the next three days, Telangana for the next two days and Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.
  • According to IMD’s forecast, between June 23 and 27, rainfall activities may intensify and spread over a large area.

Storm will wreak havoc in Goa on 22-25 June

  • The weather department has also predicted lightning and gusty winds with speed of 40-50 kmph (which can reach 60 kmph) over Konkan, Goa and Marathwada during June 22-25.
  • Apart from this, there is also a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Konkan and Goa during June 22-27.
