It is said that success is dependent on hard work. Akash Kumar’s world record making during the plate group match of Ranji Trophy 2025 is also a story of his same madness. I had dreamed of becoming a cricketer during my school days. But the hard work he put in to complete it and the support he got from his parents was commendable. Akash Kumar’s mother is a tailor, who sews clothes for others. The father does welding work. But he left no stone unturned in providing all those facilities to his son, which could make him a better cricketer.

Parents supported me a lot – Akash

While talking to ANI, Akash Kumar Chaudhary has also praised the role played by his parents. He said that despite not having much income, his parents never made him feel lack of anything. His parents have a big role in where he is today.

From debut to making world record

Akash Kumar Choudhary made his first class debut for Meghalaya in the year 2019 in the match against Nagaland. He has also represented Meghalaya in List A and T20 formats. His List A debut is against Sikkim while his T20 debut is against Gujarat.

There have been many ups and downs in Akash Kumar’s cricket career. Before making history against Arunachal Pradesh, Akash Kumar had scored only 2 half-centuries in 10 innings of first class innings. During this period, he could not even score 20 runs in 5 innings. But, after scoring a half-century against Bihar in the Plate Group of Ranji Trophy, the whole story changed for Akash Kumar.

13 year old world record broken

Now his first class fifty in 11 balls against Arunachal Pradesh has given him a different identity. No other batsman in the world has done such a feat in first class cricket that he hit 8 consecutive sixes after coming in at number 8. After that, by scoring fifty in 11 balls, he also broke the 13 year old world record in first class cricket.

Akash Kumar Chaudhary definitely wishes to play for India. But he says that it is not in his hands. All that is in his hands is to perform well with the ball and bat, which he will try his best to maintain in the future also.
