Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is an inspiration for humanity. At the national seminar in Sirsa, he announced the chair of studies in the university and highlighted the government’s initiative for preserving Sikh heritage.
Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the life of “Hind Ki Chadar” Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is a source of inspiration for the entire humanity. He said that the sacrifice and sacrifice made by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji against injustice, tyranny and oppression in the 17th century is a great example not only of Sikh history but of the entire human civilization.

The Chief Minister was the chief guest at the national seminar on “Life and Philosophy of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji” organized at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa on Saturday. Before the program, he visited the painting exhibition based on the lives of the Gurus made by the students.
Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Study Chair will be built in the university
Chief Minister Saini announced that “Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Study Chair” will be established in Chaudhary Devi Lal University, where students will be able to do research on the life and teachings of Guru Ji. He said that the programs started from November 1 on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji will continue till November 25, the main function of which will be held in Kurukshetra.
Four holy journeys start from Sirsa
The Chief Minister said that four sacred yatras are being taken out on this occasion, the first of which has been launched from Rodi in Sirsa. Welcoming the saints, scholars and researchers from across the country, he said that it is a matter of good fortune that we are meditating on the life and message of such a great man, who taught that religion is not just the protection of one’s own religion, but the protection of the moral conscience of the entire humanity.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s teachings are relevant even today
Chief Minister Saini said that even in the technological age, the ideals of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji are giving direction to India. He said that India’s real strength lies not in technology but in moral values, spiritual fortitude and courage. He called upon the youth to take inspiration from the lives of Guru ji and his four martyred disciples and play a positive role in the society.
India is working as per Guru tradition under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi
CM Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving forward today on the principle of “One Earth, One Family, One Future”, which is an extension of the spirit of the Guru tradition. He said that the Modi government is taking the country forward on the path of humanity and morality.
Haryana government committed to preserving Sikh heritage
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to preserve and propagate Sikh history and heritage.
- A scheme to provide a government job to a member of 121 Sikh families of Haryana who lost their relatives in the 1984 riots has been implemented.
- In December 2022, the Sikh community was given autonomy by establishing the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
- 70 kanals of land has been transferred to Gurudwara Sri Chilla Sahib in Sirsa.
Colleges and monuments named after Sikh Gurus
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that-
- The medical college to be built in Yamunanagar has been named “Hind Ki Chadar Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Singh Ji Medical College”.
- Assandh College has been named “Baba Fateh Singh Ji College” and “Mata Gujri V.L.D.A. College” has been established in Lakhnore Sahib.
- The foundation stone of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial was laid at Lauhgarh in Yamunanagar.
- “Golden Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Scheme” was launched for pilgrims, under which financial assistance will be provided to visit historical places like Sri Hazur Sahib, Sri Nankana Sahib, Sri Hemkund Sahib and Sri Patna Sahib.
Respecting Sikh heritage is part of national policy
The Chief Minister said that the respect and honor that Sikh heritage has received in the last 11 years is a part of the national policy. He said that from the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to the 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, India has made remarkable progress in the direction of religious harmony and cultural prosperity.
Bring Guru Sahib’s teachings into life: CM Saini
The Chief Minister said that Guru Sahib’s teachings should not only be memorized but should also be adopted in life. He wished that by the grace of Guru Sahib, there should be peace, harmony and spiritual strength in the lives of entire humanity.
