You must have eaten green chilli chutney and pickle many times, but have you ever eaten its halwa? Green chilli halwa also tastes very tasty and it takes very little time to prepare. Ingredients for making Halwa
To make green chilli halwa, you will need half a kilo of Bhavnagari chilli (this is a variety of chilli which is a little less spicy), 250 or 300 grams of sugar as per taste, half a cup of mawa i.e. khoya, half a cup of desi ghee or take the quantity of your choice. 1 teaspoon cardamom or peppermint powder (as per your taste), apart from this you will need dry fruits and some nuts like almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts. Now let’s know the recipe.
How to make green chilli halwa?
- To make halwa, remove the stalks of chillies, wash and clean them. After this, remove the white part and all the seeds inside it. Now grate the green chillies. This work is a little difficult. Which you should do comfortably with patience. For this, you can also wear gloves on your hands, because some people may feel skin irritation from chilli.
- Now heat ghee in a pan and add grated green chillies to it and fry. This work is done quickly. It will hardly take you 5 minutes, but keep in mind that the flame should be low, because we have to cook the chillies till they become soft. It does not have to be roasted.
- When the green chillies are completely cooked, add mawa to it, mix it and fry it on medium flame while stirring again for a while until the grease starts separating from the pan.
- When chilli and mawa mix well, add sugar in it and mix till it melts. At this stage there will be some moisture in the halwa, which should be dried.
- Lastly, add dry fruits and chopped nuts, cardamom powder or peppermint powder to the halwa and mix. Hot chilli halwa is absolutely ready to serve which tastes amazing.
