The effect of cold wave has started appearing in large parts of North India, while the rainy season is still continuing in many states of South India. Cold increases in North India, cold wave alert in many places
The effect of winter has started being felt in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana. The icy winds coming straight from the mountains are increasing the chill in the plains. According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave may occur at many places in the next 3 days. The cold in the morning and evening can suddenly become severe.
Weather of Rajasthan and Central India
The onset of winter is clearly visible in eastern Rajasthan. There are reports of severe cold both at night and in the morning at many places. There is a possibility of cold wave in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand between 10 and 11 November. Here the temperature can drop rapidly and the cold will be felt even during the day.
Temperature dropped in Delhi-NCR, wind became colder
The minimum temperature in Delhi is continuously going down. Day temperature can be around 27°C, night temperature can go up to 12°C. The humidity in the air is also decreasing, due to which the cold wind will start stinging more.
Temperature may fall by 4-5 degrees in UP-Bihar
There may be a drop of 4 to 5°C in night temperature in Uttar Pradesh in the coming days. That means fog and freezing wind will be seen early in the morning. Same is the situation in Bihar also. IMD says that after November 15, the temperature may go down completely. That means the real winter season is about to start.
Alert in Jharkhand, cold wave warning in 6 districts
IMD has issued cold wave alert in 6 districts of Jharkhand from 10 to 12 November. These include Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Gumla, Latehar and Lohardaga. The temperature here has been recorded from 9 to 11°C.
Cold subsides in South India, rain continues
While cold has entered North India, the rainy season is not over yet in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu on 12-13 November. There is an alert of heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe on November 10. A warning has been issued regarding thunder and lightning.
