On the day of NEET exam, PM Modi stayed at the airport for 45 minutes for the students. There was controversy over burqa and sacred thread at the examination centres. A student arrived with a wrong admit card, which the school sent to the correct centre.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to Delhi from Kolkata on Sunday, but did not go straight to his home from the airport. He stayed at the airport for about 45 minutes. The reason for this was the NEET exam, which was to start at 2 pm. Modi reached Delhi airport from Kolkata at around 1:15 pm. At that time, students appearing for NEET exam were in a hurry to reach their respective centers because the exam was to start at 2 pm.
Officials said that ‘PM Modi thought that if his convoy passed in ‘zero traffic’, then the normal traffic would stop. Due to this, students may get delayed in reaching the examination centre. That’s why he decided to wait and left the airport only after the exams started.
Controversy over removal of burqa
A student who came to appear for NEET exam wearing a burqa at an examination center in Ajmer was asked to remove it. Students and some Muslim organizations protested against this. Regarding this, student Kulsoom Bano said, ‘I wore the same clothes in the examination held on May 3 also. No one had stopped him then. When NTA has given permission, they cannot stop us. For me, my burqa and my identity are more important than exams.
Objection to sacred thread also
A center in Vastrapur area of Ahmedabad was accused of cutting the sacred thread tied on the hands of Hindu students and removing the burqa of Muslim girl students. When the parents protested against this, the police intervened. After this, students were allowed to take the examination with burqa and thread only.
Student arrived with old admit card: created a stir
Another interesting incident happened in Ajmer. A student took the old admit card of the examination held in May to the old center to appear for the examination again. This mistake was caught during investigation. When checked online, it was found that his new center was 40 kilometers away. After this, the school itself arranged for a vehicle to take the student to her actual center on time.
