The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday detained a Pakistani intruder trying to illegally cross into India via the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua. The Pakistani national was injured as BSF opened fire, observing suspicious movement of a group of people trying to sneak into the Indian territory.
Officials said that at around 4 pm, alert Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers between Chandwan and Kotha border posts in Hiranagar sector noticed movement from the Pakistani side. The soldiers saw that the intruders were continuously moving towards the Indian border. As soon as they reached near the restricted area, the soldiers asked them to stop, according to Jagran.com.
The BSF officer said that when the intruders did not stop even after several warnings and entered the Indian border, the BSF jawans posted at the forward posts started firing at them. One intruder was injured in this firing. As soon as the intruder fell on the ground, the other intruders returned back towards the Pakistan border.
