How did Ram and Sita meet before marriage?
According to mythological belief, the first meeting of Lord Ram and Mother Sita took place in the flower garden of Janakpur, when Ram and Lakshman had gone with their guru to collect flowers and Sita had come to worship with her friends. It was here that the meeting of love at first sight took place, where both of them fell in love with each other after seeing each other.
Story of the first meeting of Lord Ram and Mother Sita
Lord Shri Ram and Sita Mata met before their marriage in the flower garden of Janakpur. Once in Tretayuga, Lord Rama went to Vatika on the orders of his Guru Vashishtha to bring flowers for worship. At that time, Mother Sita also came there with her friends to worship Girija Bhavani. When Mother Sita saw Lord Ram’s arrival in the garden, both of them became infatuated with each other.
At the same time, Mother Sita accepted Lord Ram as her husband and Mother Sita prayed to Mother Parvati to get Shri Ram as her husband. But mother Sita was worried about the condition placed by her father Janak. Actually, King Janak had set a condition to select the groom for Mother Sita, according to which, Mother Sita would be married to whichever great man would pick up and break Shiva’s bow.
In such a situation, Mother Sita prayed to Goddess Parvati to get Lord Ram as her husband and expressed her concern. Hearing this, Goddess Parvati told Mother Sita that you should be rest assured that Lord Ram will get married only to you.
