Midnight suspense: Attempt to mislead and the mystery of ‘Rs 7 lakh’
During the investigation by SIT, many complications have come to light in the case. According to police sources, when accused Samarth Singh was questioned about the period when he was allegedly absconding, he repeatedly tried to mislead the investigators. However, Samarth added a new claim in the interrogation and said that Twisha was in a lot of mental stress and distress after the abortion. Samarth also reiterated that he had given Rs 7 lakh to Twisha. Taking the investigation forward, the SIT has seized Samarth Singh’s laptop, mobile phone, passport, digital evidence and other important documents to ascertain the veracity of his claims.

The horrifying story of the last call: ‘She is no more in this world’
The complaint filed by Twisha’s family directly points to dowry harassment and murder in this case. The family alleges that after the marriage that took place on December 9, 2025, Samarth and his mother Giribala Singh (who is the chairperson of the Bhopal Consumer Court) were not happy with the dowry given. Shocking timeline according to the FIR: On May 12, at 9:41 pm, Twisha had called her mother. During the conversation, Samarth was heard shouting from behind and the phone suddenly got disconnected. After this, when the family tried to contact her repeatedly, mother-in-law Giribala Singh picked up the phone and just said, “She is no more in this world” and disconnected the call. Just after this, at 10:20 pm, Samarth took him to AIIMS Bhopal, where doctors declared him dead.
Big revelation in postmortem report: Not just hanging, injury marks found on body
What makes this entire matter most suspicious is Twisha’s postmortem report. Although doctors have stated the primary cause of death as “hanging by ligature”, the report also clearly records that multiple injury marks were found on other parts of Twisha’s body. These injuries were caused by a solid object, which points to a major scuffle or domestic violence that took place on the night of the incident.

Supreme Court’s tough stance: ‘There will be an impartial investigation, stay away from media’
The echo of this case has now reached the biggest court of the country. A bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, hearing the case, made it clear that the court would ensure an “impartial, independent and neutral investigation”. Along with this, the court has given strict instructions to the families of both the parties not to make any statement in front of the media, so that the ongoing investigation of CBI and SIT is not affected. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh High Court has postponed the hearing till May 27 on the petition challenging the anticipatory bail of accused mother-in-law Giribala Singh.
