Amid US-Iran talks, Trump warned Iran to rein in Hezbollah. Israel also expressed fear of another conflict in Lebanon.
Donald Trump Warns Iran on Hezbollah: US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that it should control the activities of its proxy organization Hezbollah operating in Lebanon. Trump said in a post on social media that if Iran does not stop Hezbollah, the US could attack it even bigger than the attacks carried out last week. Meanwhile, important talks have started between America and Iran in Burgenstock, Switzerland. Representatives of both the countries are discussing possibilities to reduce regional tensions and improve relations.
Israeli army chief gave new warning
On the other hand, Israeli Army Chief Eyal Zamir has said that the ceasefire implemented in Lebanon is in a very fragile state and the conflict with Hezbollah may resume. He instructed the soldiers to be fully prepared for any possible situation. Jamir said Hezbollah has suffered heavy losses in recent conflicts and the Israeli military does not want to give it a chance to become stronger again.
Israel’s claim on Hezbollah’s status
Eyal Zamir said that Hezbollah is going through difficult times at the moment. According to him, the organization has suffered a major setback at the military and strategic level. He said that Israel is constantly monitoring the situation and is ready to respond to any threat.
Israelis expressed their opinion about the agreement in the survey
In a survey conducted in Israel regarding the agreement between America and Iran, a large number of people believed that Iran has benefited more from this agreement. According to the survey, 92% of Israeli citizens believe that the post-war agreement brought economic and diplomatic benefits to Tehran, while Israel could not achieve the expected political gains.
Israelis consider Trump’s role more effective
78% of the people surveyed also believed that the role of US President Donald Trump in this entire matter was more influential than that of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Participants believed that Washington played a more decisive role in setting the direction of the final agreement and moving the negotiations forward, while Israel appeared to have a relatively limited role.
