Ibrahim Ali Khan has only appeared in two movies to far, making him a relative newcomer in the industry. His March 7 debut in Naadaniyan was one of the most eagerly awaited star kid debuts in recent memory. Despite the film’s failure to meet expectations, Sarzameen, directed by Kayoze Irani, attempted to salvage it. The filmmaker discussed his thoughts on Ibrahim Ali Khan’s performance in Sarzameen in comparison to his debut in Nadaaniyan in an interview with The Daily Jagran.
Kayoze Irani disclosed that Sarzaamen had already been shot by the time the reviews for that film (Nadaaniyan) arrived. The Hindi language action-thriller, starring Prithviraj and Kajol, was delayed due to injuries on set. Ibrahim Ali Khan essayed the role of Harman in Sarzmeen, a seemingly naive child who becomes a militant. His character is motivated to pursue revenge to the extremes because of his complicated relationship with his father (Prithviraj).
Kayoze Irani shared, “With Ibrahim and myself, we were both debutants. So, there was a lot of stake for both of us. So, we decided to be each other’s crutch. I decided to be there for him and he decided to be there for me. I’m actually very happy with how it has turned out for him and I think that the audience has accepted him a lot more. So it’s good and I am very-very happy with that.”
The actor-turned-director also disclosed that Student Of The Year helped him better understand Ibrahim’s state since he knew how he felt for the first time, being in front of the camera (for the role of Kaizaad ‘Sudo’ Sodabottleopenerwala) with a team of 200 people watching.
