Captain Rishabh Pant has made a lot of headlines in the unofficial Test series between India A and South Africa A. After being out of action for about 3 months due to injury, Pant returned to cricket action with this series. Not only this, he got injured in the second test match also and remained retired for some time. But while Pant’s injury was not very serious and he made a comeback immediately, this series has sidelined a star Indian batsman for the next four months. This player is Rajat Patidar, who will remain away from cricket action for some time due to injury.

A report has revealed that stylish right-handed batsman Rajat Patidar got injured during the first test match between India A and South Africa A. Due to this injury he could not participate in the second test. Now, according to the latest updates coming out on Patidar’s injury, he will not be able to play cricket for about 4 months. Patidar had scored only 19 and 28 runs in both the innings of this match.

However, Patidar’s injury will not harm Team India as he is not a part of the Indian squad for the Test series against South Africa. However, it will affect his state team Madhya Pradesh. Patidar is the captain of his MP team and in the very first match of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season, he scored an excellent double century. Due to this injury, he will not be able to play the remaining matches of Ranji Trophy at present. Also, Madhya Pradesh will miss its captain in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy starting at the end of November, while he will not be able to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy starting at the end of December.

If Patidar remains out till February, there is no hope of him playing in the second half of the Ranji Trophy season. In such a situation, this 32-year-old star batsman will return directly from the IPL 2026 season, where he will captain the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was under the captaincy of Patidar that Bengaluru won its first title last season. In such a situation, Bengaluru will hope that its captain returns fully fit, so that the team can defend the title.
