President’s appeal to the youth
- In the program, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu said that today I am very happy to be among you all on the occasion of the convocation ceremony of Rani Durgavati University. Rani Durgavati, in whose name this university is established, was an embodiment of indomitable courage, bravery and bravery. Last year, the countrymen celebrated the 501st birth anniversary of that great heroine of the Gondwana Empire. Coincidentally, a few days from today is his 462nd Martyrdom Day. Rani Durgavati is a symbol of the bravery of women power of India. She will always be a source of inspiration for women power. I pay my respects to him. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu said that everyone would be proud of the 36-year journey of Rani Durgavati University, located in a picturesque area of nature. There is a rich presence of culture of tribal forest dwellers in the area around this university. The significance of the name of Rani Durgavati associated with this university will be proved only when efforts are made for the empowerment of daughters of tribal society, deprived and backward classes.
- It is necessary to worry about the tribal society. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu said that the tribal society is self-respecting. Today we are moving towards the 80th year of independence, but this society is standing at the same place. Because this society does not tell its sorrows, pain and problems to anyone. Today some women, some daughters, some sons are getting higher education. But, it is not right to leave the society and walk alone. Because, we have come here from the same society. It is our duty to worry about the society. Whatever sons or daughters hold any position, they should take care of the society. Some sons and daughters live in cities and do not go to villages, they should take out time and go among their own people and provide guidance to the people of the society. This will be a big gift to the society. This society does not ask for financial assistance, because the government is doing a lot for them. But, many people of the society do not know where to go to get government facilities, hence educated sons and daughters should guide them. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to say that India is not a piece of land, it is a living nation. I believe that to develop, it is necessary for the villages of the entire country to develop. All round development will happen only when the most backward person is brought forward. The dream of developed India-2047 will be fulfilled through this development.
- Education is the most effective medium of development President Smt. Draupadi Murmu said that education is the most effective medium of development. Therefore, it is very important to make efforts for the educational development of the tribal community. I have been told that a special scheme is being run in this university for the all-round development of students from rural and deprived sections. We all should together make efforts that our tribal youth get the opportunity to participate in modern development. At the same time, their tribal identity and identity should remain intact. We should not forget our identity, our heritage, our culture, our traditions. There is a need to disseminate the skills and knowledge of the people of tribal society through modern mediums. In this context, institutions like this university should make special efforts. Study of tribal knowledge and craft traditions on a large scale will be beneficial for all the countrymen. Higher educational institutions are major centers of education as well as innovation and research. It is an important responsibility of educational institutions to develop creative thinking, scientific approach and entrepreneurship among students. Institutions are expected to inculcate love for Indian culture, tradition and languages among the students. India is a country of diversity. People’s food habits, lifestyle, clothing, languages and culture are different. All these are the identities of different societies. He said that balanced development of the country is possible with the coordination of modernity and tradition.
- Indomitable courage in the young country President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu said that a commendable initiative has been taken to incorporate the Indian knowledge tradition in the educational structure and curriculum of this university. I have come to know that this university is trying to collaborate with other institutions to propagate Vedic mathematics and the educational values of India. Innovation is being encouraged here. I am told that patents have also been obtained by the Design Innovation Center functioning here. Convocation ceremony is an important stage in the life of students. Today the number of daughters getting gold medals in the convocation ceremony is more. This is a symbol of our daughters’ determination to move forward and the all-round development of the country. Our country is a country of youth. 65 percent of the country’s citizens are youth. They have indomitable courage to do anything. The country has big expectations from them. These expectations will be fulfilled only when the youth get employment as per their qualification. The state and central governments are making efforts for this.
- Make values the basis of life. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu said that society benefits by including environmental protection, women empowerment, development of deprived sections, cleanliness and social harmony in research and study. Also, it helps in making plans for the development of the country. We all should have such thinking and such efforts that all the universities of the country become world famous in the field of knowledge, science and research. Today the whole world is changing rapidly. Our language, way of life, lifestyle, everything is changing at a rapid pace. But, we should not forget our values. I believe that youth like you should make the values and ideals of Indian culture the basis of life. Values like truth, non-violence, compassion, service and honesty are part of our consciousness. By adopting these values in life, you can easily face difficult situations. You can make an important contribution in nation building by becoming an ideal citizen. You are not just a representative of the family or the university, but the creator of the aspirations and future of the nation. The future of the country depends on your shoulders. That strength and enthusiasm is within you. It is your duty to work for the country. He said that today the country is gaining new energies in digital, technology, startup, green energy, space research. Take advantage of these, innovate and make your mark at the global level. But, along with this, also be responsible towards the environment. I am confident that you will understand your responsibilities and move forward. I wish you a bright future.
- Students should work for poor tribals. Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the students who received medals and degrees in the convocation ceremony are the new power of Developed India-2047. Today is the call of time that young degree holders should take inspiration from the spirit of public welfare of Rani Durgavati and the tribal heroes have done many welfare works for the society. Now we have to adopt 5-5 villages of tribal society. Educated youth of the tribal society should closely observe the conditions of these villages and work for the overall development of the society. He said that the Baiga, Bharia and Saharia tribal population in Madhya Pradesh is more than 14 lakh. For them, the Central Government has started PM Jan-Man Yojana worth Rs 24 thousand crore. For the first time in the history of the country, many good works have been done for the extremely backward tribal society in three years. The Central Government has made a provision of Rs 80 thousand crore in the Dharti Aava Gram Vikas Yojana. Students should work to ensure that poor tribals get the benefits of government schemes at tehsil and village level. Never forget your society and nation. Taking inspiration from the life of Rani Durgavati, we have to work for democratic values, women empowerment and developed India. Make your best contribution to the progress of the nation.
- The state government is committed to the welfare of the students. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government, following the 5 thousand years old glorious Guru tradition, has started using the word Kulaguru for the Vice Chancellors of the universities. In our sage tradition, Gurus have been making our ashrams proud. All the young friends of Rani Durgavati University deserve congratulations, who are getting gold medals and degrees in the convocation ceremony today. India will progress at a fast pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mahakaushal’s queen Durgavati fought 50 battles in front of Abkar with her ability, intelligence and ability to protect the pride of tribal culture during the period of Mughal rule. Rani Durgavati’s elephants could not move forward in front of the Mughal army armed with cannons. He had given orders to his trusted soldiers in the adverse circumstances of the war. Mughal soldiers could not reach them while they were alive. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today the President is encouraging the young talents of the state. Due to the efforts of the state government, the gross registration rate in higher education sector has increased to 28.9 percent. The drop out rate in school education has also reduced to zero. He said that the state government has tried to open three new government universities. Efforts are on to ensure that students get better opportunities for higher education. Faculty of Agriculture has been started in our universities. New courses have been started so that the youth get training for skill development in every way.
