In this strange incident that took place on Saturday morning in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, the eagle collided with the front glass of train number 74626 going from Baramulla to Banihal with such speed that the front part of the train broke and the loco pilot got injured.

What happened in the train?

This accident happened between Bijbehara and Anantnag Railway Station. Suddenly, a large eagle flying hit the front windshield of the speeding train. The force of the shock was so much that the glass broke and loco pilot Vishal suffered minor injuries on his face and hand. Railway officials immediately stopped the train and the pilot was given first aid at Anantnag railway station. At present, his condition is out of danger.

According to officials, this incident is very rare. Generally such big birds do not collide with trains. Northern Railway Officials say that this is the most unique “Bird Hit” incident so far in Kashmir Valley. The Railways is now investigating how the eagle was flying so low and whether it was due to any meteorological or navigational reason.
