Akhilesh yadav protest: On Monday, the opposition ‘India’ coalition MPs took out a march from Parliament to Election Commission on the allegations of special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list and alleged “vote theft” in Bihar. But the police stopped him by putting a barricade on the Parliament Street. During this, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said – “These people are using police to stop us.”
Attempted barricade, opposition sitting on the road
When many opposition MPs, including Akhilesh Yadav reached the barricade, the police stopped from moving forward. Akhilesh tried to trap the barricade, but the police force stopped. After this, he sat on the road there and started shouting slogans. The March began at the Makar Gate of Parliament, where the MPs first sang the national anthem and then moved forward raising slogans of “stop the vote”. But the atmosphere on the barricade near the Transport Building was heated.

Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi also present
This protest included Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mahua Moitra of Trinamool Congress, Congress MP Jytimani and Sanjana Jatav, DMK and leaders of other parties. Some women MPs climbed on the barricade and started shouting slogans. Delhi Police says that permission for this march was not taken, while opposition MPs allege that democratic rights are being suppressed.
Background: Controversy started with Rahul Gandhi’s charge
Rahul Gandhi recently alleged that 1,00,250 votes were “stolen” in the voter list in Mahadevpura assembly constituency of Bengaluru, while the last time the BJP won the seat by 32,707 votes. The opposition says that a similar pattern is being implemented in Bihar.
