According to the Panchang, Utpanna Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month is on 15 November 2025. Ekadashi fasting date will be from 12.49 am on 15th November to 2.37 am on 16th November. In such a situation, Ekadashi fast can be started from 15th November. This day is very auspicious.

Purity: Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes.

Resolution of fasting:- With water and flowers in hand, “O Lord, by your grace I am taking a pledge to observe Ekadashi fast. Please give me the strength to complete this fast.” Saying this, take a pledge to fast.

Certainly:- Decide whether you will observe both Ekadashi fasts of the month or only one.

Prayer:- Light a lamp in the temple, anoint Lord Vishnu with Ganga water and offer him flowers and Tulsi leaves.

What should we eat:- During the fast, you can eat fruits, milk, curd, buttermilk, sago, or things made from buckwheat flour.

What not to eat:- Onion, garlic, grains and pulses should be avoided during Ekadashi fast.

Satvik diet:- Use satvik things in offering also, which must include Tulsi.

Rule:- Do not sweep the house during Ekadashi fast, so that micro organisms do not die.

Don’t:- Do not get hair and nails cut during Ekadashi fast.

Parana:- On Dwadashi Tithi, give food and charity to any needy person.

Donation:- After serving food to a Brahmin or a needy person, eat the food yourself and break the fast.

Tulsi Dal:- Parana can be done by putting Ganga water and Tulsi leaves in the mouth.

Keep in mind:- The first morsel of food should be given to the cow, animals, birds or family members.
