Bihar elections 2025 are at their crucial juncture. After the campaign ends on November 9, voting will be held on 122 seats in 20 districts on November 11. In this crucial phase, 3.7 crore voters will decide the fate of 1302 candidates.

Patna: The noise of the campaign for the second and last phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 will stop at 6 pm on 9th November, after which the entire battle will move towards the voting to be held on 11th November. In this phase, the fate of more districts, more seats and more candidates is at stake than in the first phase, which makes it the most important phase of the entire election.

122 seats at stake, 1302 candidates in the fray

In this decisive phase, voting is to be held on 122 assembly seats in a total of 20 districts. A total of 1302 candidates are in the fray for these seats, which include 1165 men, 136 women and 1 third gender candidate. Every candidate has used all his political power, tactics and words in these last hours.

electoral board from north to south

This phase geographically covered a large part of Bihar, including important areas like Seemanchal, Magadha, Shahabad and Champaran. Star campaigners and veteran faces of every party are holding meetings, road shows and door-to-door contacts in these areas at lightning speed. The 20 districts where voting will be held, the plains of Bihar from North (West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi) to South (Gaya, Aurangabad, Rohtas) and from East (Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar) to West have been completely painted in electoral colours.

3.7 crore voters will decide

The number of voters is also huge in this phase. A total of 3,70,13,556 voters will exercise their franchise. This means that on an average there are more than 3 lakh voters on each seat, who can turn the tide of politics at any time. After the historic voting of the first phase, now all eyes are on whether the second phase will also create a new record of bumper voting.

  • Total voters-3,70,13,556
  • Male voters – 1,95,44,041
  • Women voters – 1,74,68,572
  • Third Gender – 943

Election Commission preparations

Encouraged by the bumper voting in the first phase, the Election Commission is gearing up for the second phase. The Commission has issued strict instructions to the District Election Officers that there should be no relaxation in security. It is expected that there will be bumper voting in the second phase also and Bihar will again create a new record.

  • Number of booths: A total of 45,399 booths have been set up (40,073 in rural areas and 5,326 in urban areas).
  • Strict instructions: Voters must be provided with minimum necessary facilities (water, toilet, waiting shed) at all booths.

Will power change or will the equations return?

In this phase, the political reputation of many veterans is at stake. The record breaking voting of the first phase has shaken the political equations. While all the parties are claiming that the wind is on their side, political analysts believe that high voting rate often indicates an anti-incumbency wave, but it is also possible that conscious voters may strengthen the old equations.

The storm of publicity will subside in the coming 36 hours, then after 48 hours of silence, Bihar will decide the new story of power. Now the ink of public’s fingers is going to write the future of the state.
