Man United manager Ruben Amorim responds to Cristiano Ronaldo criticism

Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent critical remarks by urging calm and a forward-looking perspective.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of a key fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, Amorim acknowledged past mistakes made by the club but emphasized a commitment to future progress.

“He [Ronaldo] knows he has a huge impact in everything he says,” Amorim said. “What we need to do is focus on the future. We know that we, as a club, made a lot of mistakes in the past, but we are trying to change that. So let’s not focus on what happened.”

Amorim insisted that the club is actively making changes: “We are changing a lot of things in the structure, the way we do things, the way we want the players to behave. We are doing that and we are improving so let’s focus on the way we are doing things.”

Addressing Ronaldo’s comment that miracles are impossible, the Man United boss acknowledged the challenge but defended his position, stating, “Of course, he [Ronaldo] knows and he has a huge impact with everything he says. What can you expect? Miracles? That’s. We in Portugal say miracles only happen in Fatima, and he won’t perform miracles.”

Amorim also admitted concerns over Manchester United’s defensive issues this season: “It’s a problem. It’s a team thing. We need to defend better. We need to be more aggressive. When we have full energy with every ball, we defend better. Everything is connected.”

The manager insists that despite criticism, the focus remains on rebuilding a solid foundation for a brighter future at the club, urging everyone to forget past errors and move forward with optimism.
