CM’s assurance won hearts

When the 22 year old fast bowler Kranti Gaur bowled wholeheartedly to win the Women’s World Cup, it was not just a victory for the country, it was a kind of justice for the family, which had waited for justice and recognition for 13 years. In the year 2012, Kranti Gaur’s father Munna Lal Gaur was suspended from the post of police constable.

At a felicitation ceremony in Bhopal on Friday, November 7, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav honored the young cricketer Kranti Gaur for her brilliant performance in India’s historic World Cup campaign, but what made the fans the most happy was when the Chief Minister assured justice to her family. Madhya Pradesh CM announced, “I have come to know about the difficulties of your family. There is a provision to appeal to the state government. We will definitely work to get your father back on the job as per the existing rules”. On this, people clapped emotionally.

Why was Kranti’s father suspended?

Kranti Gaur’s father Munna Lal Gaur was suspended from his job in connection with an incident in 2012. It was allegedly related to election duty. Since then, this family living in Ghuwara village of Chhatarpur district of Bundelkhand is struggling with poverty and social humiliation.

His brother works as a bus conductor to support the family of eight. Amidst these difficulties the revolution literally reached the world stage from the dusty land of the village. Neelam Singh Gaur, mother of Kranti Gaur, who took 9 wickets in 8 matches in the World Cup, is very happy with her daughter’s performance.

What did Kranti’s sister say?

Kranti Gaur Roshni Singh Gaur, her elder sister, said that people used to make fun of her for playing with boys, but the revolution never stopped. When he was selected as ‘Player of the Match’ in a local tournament, coach Rajeev Birthare recognized his talent. That was the turning pointтАЭ.

Kranti’s brother Mayank said that my sister has not only made the country proud but has also brought back the honor of our family. Coach Rajiv Birthare, now the secretary of Chhatarpur District Cricket Association, gave him rigorous training in fitness and discipline. He said, “Kranti showed commitment from the very beginning. To stay fit, she completely gave up eating sweets. Even injuries could not stop her. She always came back stronger.”

CM promised to build a stadium

During the felicitation ceremony, Kranti was on the stage with her parents and coach. Where the Chief Minister not only honored him, but also announced to give state level honor to Kranti and build a new cricket stadium in his home district during the Birsa Munda Jayanti celebrations in Jabalpur on 15th November.

The CM’s assurance of reviewing Munna Lal’s suspension has rekindled a long lost hope. If they are reinstated, it will be the end of a story that began with loss and struggle, but ended with national pride. During this, the Sports Minister of Madhya Pradesh said that the one and a half decade old suspension of fast bowler Kranti Gaur’s father from the post of police constable will be cancelled.
