Vote Chori Row: The Election Commission of India Secretariat has written to Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, confirming an appointment for a meeting. “The Election Commission has granted an appointment for an interaction at 12:00 PM today,” the letter stated.
Members of the India bloc, led by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, are set to march from Parliament to the Election Commission on Monday in protest against alleged “vote chori” (vote theft) linked to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The demonstration is supported by several Opposition MPs, aims to draw attention to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s charges of “vote theft.” However, Delhi Police officials told Hindustan Times that no formal request for permission had been received, making the march unlikely to be permitted.
As of now, there has been no response from Congress MP Jairam Ramesh.
