Banks are going to be closed on these dates

Private and government sector banks in India will remain closed for four days in the coming week between June 22 and June 28, 2026. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a list of total eleven holidays this month due to national, regional and religious holidays. This also includes holidays of second Saturday, fourth Saturday and all Sundays. Although some bank holidays are specific to states or regions, bank branches will remain closed across the country on government national holidays.

Customers who are planning to visit the branches of SBI, HDFC Bank or other banks must first check the bank holiday list once. Both government and private sector banks will remain closed on the dates mentioned in the RBI holiday calendar. Will be closed next week on June 25, June 26, June 27 and June 28. Banks will remain closed in many areas of the country on 25th and 26th June due to Muharram. Which includes Vijayawada on 25th June. On June 26, banks will remain closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi and Srinagar. Due to the fourth Saturday on 26th June, all the banks of the country are going to remain closed. It is Sunday 28th June.

RBI June 2026 holiday calendar

  • June 15: Banks remained closed in Aizawl to commemorate the establishment of Young Mizo Association (YMA). Banks remained closed in Bhubaneswar also on this day on the occasion of Raja Sankranti.
  • June 25: Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada due to Muharram.
  • 26 June: Due to Muharram, banks will remain closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi and Srinagar.
  • 29 June: Banks will remain closed in Shimla to celebrate Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti.
  • 30 June: ‘Banks will remain closed in Aizawl to observe the regional public holiday named ‘Remna Ni’.

Holidays on Saturday and Sunday

Under the rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all scheduled and non-scheduled banks are compulsorily closed on every second and fourth Saturday and every Sunday of the month. This means that these days customers will not be able to avail the services available by visiting the branch. There are total four Sundays in this month, hence banks will remain closed on 7, 14, 21 and 28 June. Apart from Sunday, banks will also remain closed on June 13 (second Saturday) and June 27 (fourth Saturday).

Online Banking During Holidays

Even though banks will be closed for four days next week, essential banking services remain operational across the country. During bank holidays, online banking services are available across the country to ensure uninterrupted access to banking services. Customers can easily use these services for money transactions. Any person can use UPI or the app of the respective bank to make payments and receive money from others. These services work round the clock, whether the banks are open or not.

However, sometimes these services may stop due to scheduled maintenance, information about which the bank will inform you. Additionally, fund transfer requests can be made using NEFT/RTGS transfer form, demand draft request form and check book form. Apart from these options, credit cards, debit cards and ATM cards can also be obtained through card services. Services like completing account maintenance forms, setting standing instructions and applying for locker are also available.
