Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Varanasi (Kashi) on Friday evening on his two-day visit. His special plane landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Babatpur at around 5 pm. He was welcomed at the airport by State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, MLA Dr. Awadhesh Singh, MLA Sunil Patel, MLA T. Ram, Commissioner S. Many public representatives and officials including Rajalingam, Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal and District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar did so. After this the Prime Minister reached Bareka (BLW), where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave him a grand welcome.
Unprecedented enthusiasm seen in Kashi, crowd gathered on the road
Prime Minister Modi’s convoy reached Bareka Guest House from Babatpur via Harhua, Gilat Bazaar, JP Mehta and Phulwaria flyover. Thousands of people and BJP workers were standing on the way to welcome. The Prime Minister also greeted the public by waving from the vehicle. Children, youth and elders filled the entire atmosphere with patriotic colors with slogans of “Modi-Modi” and “Har Har Mahadev”. The entire route echoed with cultural programs at various places, showering of flowers and slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai. The entire route was illuminated with saffron and tricolor lights, making the view of Kashi attractive.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave grand welcome in Bareka
The Prime Minister was welcomed at Sant Atulanand Bypass, JP Mehta, FCI Godown, and Bareka Gate in the city. On reaching Bareka, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a bunch of flowers and garlands. During this, a large number of local citizens, public representatives and BJP workers were present.
The country will get the gift of four new Vande Bharat Express trains.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi on November 8. The most prominent train among these will be Varanasi to Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express, which is considered a big gift for the people of Purvanchal and Kashi. The Prime Minister will flag off these trains from Banaras (East Manduwadih) railway station. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also flag off three other Vande Bharat Express trains through virtual medium-
- Lucknow to Saharanpur Vande Bharat Express
- Firozpur to Delhi Vande Bharat Express
- Ernakulam to Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
Many dignitaries including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present on this occasion.
Religious and cultural tourism will get a new dimension
The operation of Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will give new impetus to religious and cultural tourism. This train will connect major religious places like Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot and Khajuraho. The new Vande Bharat train will save time of about 2 hours 40 minutes compared to the existing special trains. It will provide a fast, comfortable and modern travel experience, while also making it easier to reach UNESCO World Heritage Site Khajuraho. This will give a new impetus to the tourism industry and local economy.
