Start your morning with Baba Ramdev’s warm-up routine to stay fit and energised

New Delhi: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential for overall well-being — and that means not just eating right but also exercising regularly. In today’s busy world, most people spend hours sitting at their desks with little to no physical movement, which often leads to stiffness, back pain, and fatigue. To counter this, yoga guru and Patanjali founder Baba Ramdev has shared simple morning warm-up exercises to help people stay active and healthy.

In a recent social media post, Baba Ramdev emphasised the importance of starting the day with warm-up exercises and light yoga. He suggested doing at least two rounds of Yogic Jogging, or if possible, a complete session of Surya Namaskar. For those unable to perform Surya Namaskar, he recommended easier postures like Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Tiryak Tadasana (Swaying Palm Tree Pose), Kati Chakrasana (Waist Rotating Pose), Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Konasana (Angle Pose), and Padahastasana (Hand-to-Foot Pose).

According to Ramdev, regular warm-up and yoga practices not only prepare the body for the day but also help eliminate weakness, illness, and fatigue. He said, “We should not compromise with diseases or disorders but face them with strength and discipline.”

Baba Ramdev also encouraged people to practice yogic jogging, push-ups, squats, and simple breathing techniques (Pranayama) if they cannot manage a full yoga session. He advised performing at least five to seven asanas and five to seven pranayamas daily, depending on one’s ability.

Benefits of Yoga and Warm-Up

Yoga is known to improve not only physical health but also mental well-being. Regular practice enhances posture, boosts energy, improves concentration, and promotes better sleep. Pranayama, in particular, helps reduce stress, strengthens the lungs, and enhances oxygen flow throughout the body.

Experts say that starting the day with a few minutes of warm-up and light yoga can significantly improve blood circulation, flexibility, and mood — setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.

So, if your busy schedule keeps you tied to your desk, follow Baba Ramdev’s advice — dedicate a few minutes each morning to simple stretching, warm-ups, and breathing exercises to stay fit, calm, and energised all day.
