Fawad Khan And Vaani Kapoor’s Abir Gulaal Set For Overseas Release After Sardaar Ji 3’s Success?

Abir Gulaal Movie Release Update: Vaani Kapoor and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s much-awaited film Abir Gulaal has been embroiled in controversy, leading to a delay in its release. The movie was initially slated to be released in India on May 9, but was banned due to the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, followed by Operation Sindoor. In the wake of the incident, plans for theatrical release were put on indefinite hold by the makers. After months of speculation, the latest reports suggest that the makers of Abir Gulaal are planning to release the movie overseas. Recently, Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 3 has been released worldwide, skipping the Indian release. It looks like Abir Gulaal will follow in the footsteps with a worldwide premiere.

Abir Gulaal To Release Overseas?

According to the report of Biz Asia Live, Fawad Khan’s upcoming Bollywood film will be released worldwide later this month on August 29. It is likely that the film will skip release in India, owing to political tensions between India and Pakistan. The makers are reportedly considering following a strategy adopted by Sardaar Ji 3 makers, which skipped Indian cinemas entirely but garnered massive success with overseas release. However, the official announcement is yet to be made by the makers.

On April 22, the Pahalgam terror attack occurred, leaving the entire nation shocked, followed by a successful Operation Sindoor, which escalated tensions between India and Pakistan. This led to the ban on Pakistani artists in India. During this, the releases of Sardaar Ji 3 and Abir Gulaal were called for a ban. Diljit’s film, which also featured Pakistani actor Hania Aamir, opted to avoid releasing the movie in India; the producers chose to release it globally instead.
