Dinesh Karthik will captain India and Abbas Afridi will captain Pakistan.

Even though the relations between India and Pakistan are going through a period of tension, the competition between the two countries continues on the cricket field. In recent times, matches have been seen between India and Pakistan in the Men’s Asia Cup and Women’s World Cup. During this period, a situation of tension and conflict has also arisen. Now once again the cricketers of both the countries are going to clash. The famous tournament Hong Kong International Sixes 2025 season is starting from Friday 7th November and India and Pakistan will face each other on the very first day.

Like every time, the entertaining and shortest format of cricket is making a comeback. The Hong Kong International Sixes Tournament will start from Friday at Tin Kwong Recreation Ground in Hong Kong, which will run till 9 November. This time a total of 12 teams including India and Pakistan are participating in the tournament. In this, India and Pakistan are going to compete on 7th November and fans are eagerly waiting for it because some former and some active cricketers of both the countries will participate in it.

Defeated last time, this time there will be retaliation

This time the command of the Indian team for the tournament has been handed over to former wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik. Apart from Karthik, last season’s captain Robin Uthappa, Stuart Binny, Bharat Chipli, Abhimanyu Mithun, Shahbaz Nadeem and Priyank Panchal are participating in the team. The command of the Pakistani team is in the hands of active cricketer Abbas Afridi, while players like Abdul Samad, Mohammad Shehzad are also part of the squad.

In the history of this tournament between India and Pakistan, Pakistan has the upper hand. Last year also, Team India had to face defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the same tournament. In such a situation, this time the Indian team has a chance to equalize the score of that defeat. Well, if we talk about the history of this tournament, Pakistan has won the title a record 5 times, whereas India had won the tournament only once in 2005.

What are the rules of International Sixes?

Talking about the rules and regulations of the tournament, only 6 players can play in each team in Hong Kong International Sixes. Also, each team gets to play only 6 overs in the match. This is why it is called ‘Sixes’ tournament. A total of 12 teams are participating in the tournament and they have been divided into 4 groups. Initially there will be group stage matches and then 2-2 teams from each group will go to the quarter finals, which will later turn into semi-finals with only 4 teams and then the final will be played. All this will happen in just 3 days, so all the teams will play 2-2 matches in a day.

Apart from this, in the match, every player of the fielding team, except the wicketkeeper, will have to bowl at least one over. At the same time, if any batsman crosses the 50 run mark, he will have to retire. However, a retired player can come to bat in that situation, if any batsman of the last pair of the team is out. After the fall of 5 wickets, the last batsman will get a chance to bat with the out batsman at number 5. However, the batsman who is out will only play the role of runner and will not bat. But if he is run out, the main batsman will also be out.
