Tussar saree, on the other hand, is made from natural silk. Most people wear it on special occasions, weddings or festivals. Women living in rural areas of Bihar wear cotton sarees in daily use, which have light colors and floral designs. Apart from this, modern design and synthetic sarees are also liked a lot in cities. The way of wearing saree varies according to the place. At some places, straight pallu is prevalent and at other places, there is a trend of wearing saree with inverted pallu.
mithila print
Mithila print is the identity of Mithila region of Bihar. This is not only limited to walls and paper, but is also seen on suits and sarees. Nowadays, Mithila printed kurtas, sarees, dupattas, T-shirts and scarves are becoming very popular among the youth of Bihar.
cotton saree
Cotton sarees are widely worn in Bihar, which are very comfortable and easily absorb sweat in summer, especially in Patna, Gaya, and Nalanda regions. Handloom weaving is done on these sarees. Apart from this, along with traditional designs, modern pattern designs are also put on it. Light embroidery or block print is also done on some. Women wear this type of cotton saree daily.
Manihari Saree
Manihari saree is famous in Purnia district of Bihar. This saree is woven by local artisans and gives a glimpse of the folk culture of Bihar. Light embroidery, buttons and colored borders are made on them, which help in making it attractive. This saree is usually made from cotton fabric and is a part of everyday wear. Nowadays, modern designs are being seen in these sarees also.
