Under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, an important initiative is being taken towards strengthening the basic facilities on the Chardham Yatra route. In the same sequence, a high-level review meeting was organized in the State Secretariat on Friday regarding the construction of the proposed state guest house in Ratura area of ​​Rudraprayag district.

The meeting was presided over by Secretary State Property Department, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar did it. During this, detailed discussions were held on the outline, design, construction process and other technical aspects of the guest house. Officials were instructed to take the project forward on priority basis.

Land identified in Ratura under Chardham Yatra project

About 0.375 hectare land has been earmarked in Ratura area for this project, which is considered important from the point of view of Chardham Yatra. This project has been kept in the priority list of the government due to its inclusion in the Chief Minister’s announcements. In the meeting, instructions were given to the concerned officials that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the State Guest House should be prepared as soon as possible and submitted to the government, so that the construction work can be started within the stipulated time.

State guest house will be developed with modern hill architecture

Secretary State Property Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar directed the officials of the executing agency Provincial Block Public Works Department, Rudraprayag that the building should be constructed keeping in mind the modern hill architecture. He said that while designing the building, priority should be given to the traditional architecture, natural environment and requirements of the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. With this, this building will not only be a government residential complex but will also represent the cultural identity of the state.

There will be proper arrangements for VIP facilities, parking and meeting rooms.

It was also decided in the meeting that keeping in mind the current needs as well as the increasing demand in the future, adequate number of guest rooms, conference rooms, VIP suites, parking facilities, security arrangements and other necessary infrastructure facilities should be developed. Officials were directed to prepare the project with a long-term perspective so as to ensure its effective utilization in the coming years also.

NGT standards and environmental rules will be followed

During the meeting, special emphasis was laid on environmental protection and compliance with technical standards. Secretary State Property directed that the guidelines of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) should be completely followed during the construction of the building. He said that the distance of the building from the river, height and all other construction related parameters should be kept as per the rules prescribed for hilly areas. Also, there should be no negligence in the construction quality and the project should be equipped with modern facilities.

Chardham Yatra, disaster management and administrative works will get benefits

Experts believe that Rudraprayag district is the main center of Chardham Yatra and lakhs of devotees going to Kedarnath Dham travel through this area. The construction of the State Guest House will provide better accommodation for VIP guests, senior officials and administrative teams. Apart from this, this facility will also play an important role in disaster management, high level meetings and government programs.

Government will regularly monitor the project

Additional Secretary and State Property Officer Laxman Singh, Deputy Secretary Hanuman Prasad Tiwari, Executive Engineer Inderjit Bose and Assistant Engineer Omprakash Chandra were present in the meeting. All the officials assured to take the project forward on priority basis and complete the work within the stipulated time.
