Meerut: A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Here a woman and her lover have been arrested for the murder of a 6 year old innocent child. Both considered the child to be an obstacle in their relationship. Police said that the matter came to light on June 16, when a woman named Gurpreet Kaur lodged a missing report of her son with the police. In his complaint, he accused Arpit Sharma, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, of taking the child away in the car. After the complaint, Bahsuma police registered a case and started searching for Arpit Sharma and the missing boy.
The turning point in the case came when the police arrested Arpit Sharma. During interrogation, he confessed to having an affair with Gurpreet Kaur. She also revealed that both of them considered the child to be an obstacle in their relationship.
According to the police, Sharma also confessed that he strangled the 6-year-old child and dumped the body in the forests of Hastinapur to destroy the evidence. Every effort was made to hide this crime. On the example of Arpit, the investigation team recovered the child’s body from the forest and sent it for postmortem.
SP (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar said that further investigation and evidence found revealed the role of Gurpreet Kaur in this murder. After this, he was also arrested on Friday. Arpit Sharma has already been sent to jail after being produced in the court, while Gurpreet Kaur will be produced in the court for remand. Further investigation is ongoing in the matter.
