New Delhi: The partnership between Snap Inc. and Perplexity AI will allow Snapchat users to access real-time, conversational answers in-app in the nearest future. The acquisition will see the Perplexity AI-based engine for giving answers directly integrated into the Snapchat chat functionality that enables users to ask questions and get verified natural-language answers without being redirected to another application.
The feature will be launched worldwide at the beginning of 2026 and will reach approximately 1 billion monthly active users of Snapchat. Snap claims that the move is in line with its vision of making artificial intelligence more personal, social and deeply embedded into everyday discussions. Perplexity will give Snap around $400 million in a combination of cash and equity during the course of a year, and revenue is likely to begin to generate in 2026.
Perplexity AI comes to Snapchat’s chat experience
The partnership will make the AI of Perplexity a part of the current Chat interface, where users will be able to find out about topics and learn using real-time information that is credible. The integration will become an answer engine to the already existing My AI chatbot in Snapchat, which will be used to offer credible answers based on verifiable information.
Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, stated that the joint venture would be a bringing of knowledge to where curiosity occurs: within the sales talk. He said that millions of people meet and learn about the world using Snapchat. Through introducing Perplexity to Snapchat, we can tap into that curiosity exactly where it happens.
Snap strengthens its AI ecosystem
According to Snap CEO Evan Spiegel, the partnership would be a move to make AI more personal, social, and fun. He also said that Snap intends to create Snapchat as a reliable source of AI-driven discovery and learning and expand AI innovators onto the platform in the future.
As Snapchat has more than 943 million monthly active users, especially 13-34-year-olds, this partnership makes Snapchat a major player in the new generation of con-AIs. The Perplexity collaboration is the first major collaboration between Snap and an external AI provider, and it indicates its increased desire to transform how users find and experience information on the internet.
