New Delhi: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched a scathing attack on Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and called him the most oppressive dictator in Pakistan’s history.
Khan also called Munir a mentally unstable person. Khan, who has been imprisoned in Adiala Jail since August 2023, accused Munir of inflicting severe atrocities. Imran Khan, in his X post wrote, “The extent of oppression under Munir’s rule is unprecedented. Blinded by the lust for power, Munir is willing to do anything.”
Criticizing the incidents of May 9, November 26, and Muridke, Imran Khan called them clear examples of the reckless abuse of power. He accused the police and security personnel of killing PTI workers. He said, “The indiscriminate firing on unarmed citizens is something no civilized society can even imagine. Such cruelty against women has never been witnessed in any other era.”
‘Death better than Slavery’
Imran Khan also accused General Asim Munir of persecuting him by keeping his wife, Bushra Bibi, in isolation. He said, “We prefer death over slavery. Asim Munir is inflicting every kind of injustice on me and my wife. No political leader’s family has ever faced such cruelty.” Khan further said, “I want to make it absolutely clear once again – no matter what he does, I will neither bow down nor surrender.”
No Talks With Shehbaz
Imran Khan rejected the idea of reconciliation and stated that his party would not hold talks with Shehbaz Sharif’s puppet government or the military establishment. He wrote, “It is useless to talk to a puppet government whose prime minister works on a ‘will ask before answering’ policy.” He further said that dialogue is meaningless because “whenever we tried to talk, the repression only intensified.”
