IMD Rain Alert: These days the cold has started increasing gradually in Delhi-NCR, while pollution has further increased the problems of the people. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab on Thursday.
IMD Rain Alert: The weather has taken a turn in North India. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, snowfall has started in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while light rain in the plain areas has increased the cold. At many places the minimum temperature has reached below zero degrees. In Jammu and Kashmir, fresh snowfall occurred in Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Gurez, Dudhpathri and Farkin Top area of Kupwara from Tuesday evening to early Wednesday morning. As soon as snowfall started, crowds of tourists gathered at these places.
Cold started increasing in the plains
There has also been snowfall in Badrinath, Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib of Uttarakhand. A white blanket of snow has spread on the high peaks of the Himalayas, while light rain was recorded in the lower areas. Although the weather remains dry in the plains, the cold has started increasing. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may fall further in many parts of North India in the coming days, due to which the chill is likely to increase further.
There will be heavy rain in these states
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls over Andaman-Nicobar Islands and South Interior Karnataka during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is also likely over North Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland. Alert in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka: There is a possibility of light rain in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. An alert of heavy rains along with thunderstorm has been issued in some areas of Maharashtra, Marathwada and Gujarat till November 6.
