Raksha Ka Rishta: Tying bonds of safety & gratitude with India’s truck drivers

Raksha Bandhan has always been about protection, love, and unbreakable trust. But this year, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, in collaboration with TV9 Network, took this tradition beyond homes and into the heart of India’s highways.

Under the initiative “Raksha ka Rishta – For Every Truck Driver of India”, rakhis handcrafted by women from the Durga Line at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant were sent to Kalamboli Transport Nagar in Navi Mumbai. Each rakhi carried not just threads of silk, but a handwritten note — a promise to stand beside the men who drive our nation forward.

As rakhis were tied around calloused hands, smiles broke through fatigue, and eyes glistened with quiet emotion. For many drivers, it wasn’t just a festival; it was a reminder that their long hours and relentless commitment are seen, valued, and honoured.

These rakhis are more than a tradition. They are a symbol of Tata Motors’ enduring commitment to the safety, dignity, and well-being of those who keep India moving. Because for us, every journey matters — and every driver is family.
